Our drivers

Everyone in an organisation has a key role to play.

This has become so evident during the pandemic with praise rightly being heaped upon NHS workers (from consultants to cleaners) and supermarket staff and delivery drivers in general. In our business, if one part of the operations falls, everyone feels it from colleagues to customers. Delivery drivers are the face of our company and their attitude and professionalism can really add to our service and we are lucky to have such great people in our company. I personally wish to thank all our drivers and warehouse staff for their great work.

So that no one feels left out, I also wish to thank all our staff, suppliers and customers who have all been so supportive. People have really pulled together and looked for solutions in these tricky times – long may it continue. This way of cooperative working is very uplifting and is proving, as evidenced by many studies of team dynamics and productivity, to be a win-win approach for all involved.

John Bengue is the managing director of both Freedown Food and Meat Me at Home. He has co-founded the company and oversees the business for the last 25 years.
